Why It Works
🌿 Why It Works
The science and soul behind Doughy Dreamz
In a world full of noise, notifications, and never-ending to-do lists, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed — especially if you’re neurodivergent, anxious, or just plain human. That’s why we created Doughy Dreamz: a sensory experience that helps you reconnect with your body, your breath, and the present moment.
Our aromatherapy-infused sensory dough isn’t just squishy and fun — it’s a gentle tool for mental wellness and self-regulation.
Here’s why it works:
🖐️ Tactile Input Grounds the Nervous System
Squeezing, stretching, and molding dough provides proprioceptive input — the deep pressure feedback your body craves when it’s overstimulated or dysregulated. It’s the same calming principle behind weighted blankets, hugs, or deep pressure therapy.
🌬️ Repetitive Motion Calms the Brain
Slow, repetitive movements (like rolling or kneading) help regulate breathing and stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system — your body’s natural “rest and digest” state. It tells your brain, “You’re safe.”
🌸 Scent Supports Mood + Memory
Each jar is lightly infused with essential oils or skin-safe fragrance oils chosen for their emotional effects:
- Lavender Vanilla: soft, comforting, sleep-friendly
- Rose & Jasmine: grounding and heart-opening
- Grapefruit Spearmint: uplifting and energizing
- Eucalyptus Spearmint (CBD/CBG): refreshing, clarifying, and calming
🌿 CBD + CBG Support Emotional Regulation (in select jars)
Cannabinoids like CBD and CBG are known to support calm, reduce anxiety, and promote emotional balance — especially when combined with sensory grounding.
🧠 Made for Neurodivergent and Neurospicy Minds
We know what it’s like to feel “too much” or “not enough.” Doughy Dreamz is designed by two families with lived experience of autism, ADHD, anxiety, and the beautifully complex brains that come with it.
This is dopamine in dough form. A jar of peace for your palms.
